Short Biography

Alessandro Marinaccio is Research Director and Head of the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Unit at Inail (Italian National Institute for the Insurance of Work-Related Injuries). His research activity is focused on occupational epidemiology and the surveillance systems of occupational cancers and diseases, with special attention on asbestos-related health effects. Furthermore, climate change and its effect on safety and health at work is his field of research, such as the occupational risk factors for nasal cancer. He is a fellow of Collegium Ramazzini and leads the Italian mesothelioma register (ReNaM). He was the principal investigator in national and international research projects concerning occupational cancers and disease epidemiology and surveillance.
