Short Biography
Dr Ali Sié, MD, PhD is a Burkinian epidemiology and and public health senior scientist and team leader of “Disease Control” at the Nouna Health Research Centre (CRSN). The latter is one of the major research centre of the National Institute of Public Health of Burkina Faso whose main objective is the provision of scientific evidence to health planners and policy makers for better health interventions. His main research area is clinical epidemiology of infectious diseases and health system research mainly focused on system performance. In recent years, he has growing interest on climate change and health issue in Burkina Faso, focusing on climate impact evaluation and adaptation strategies for local communities.
He was the leader of the climate change and health Working group at INDEPTH Network between 2010-2017 and is now leading the climate change and chronic diseases program at the National institute of public health in Burkina Faso. Till today, his long-standing public health and climate change and health research at CRSN have been consolidated and several communities, health related climate change research projects have been successfully conducted or continue to be implemented in collaboration with researchers worldwide.
He has been Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator of several clinical/field interventions trials and authored/co-authored more than 200 papers in peer reviewed journals (0000-0002-3959-2520) and sit in many scientific and managerial Boards.
