Awal Prasetyo

Dr. dr. Awal Prasetyo, M.Kes, Sp.THT-BKL, MM is an accomplished Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), with over 30 years of extensive experience spanning medical practice, high-level academic leadership, and humanitarian service. As a licensed Otorhinolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat – Head and Neck Surgeon) with deep expertise in Anatomy Pathology and Biomedicine, he holds a Doctorate (S3) in Medical Sciences from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) specializing in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. His academic stewardship is highlighted by his tenure as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Universitas Bengkulu (2019–2024), and he continues to influence institutional governance as a current member of the UNDIP Academic Senate.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Prasetyo possesses strong healthcare management capabilities, backed by a Master of Management in Hospital Management, which has allowed him to successfully lead institutional accreditation, quality assurance systems, and complex, World Bank-funded educational projects. Beyond the university, he is deeply committed to social impact and community welfare, serving as the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) for the City of Semarang (2021–2026), where he oversees vital disaster response efforts, blood donor services, and healthcare advocacy for vulnerable populations. He is also a widely published researcher globally indexed in Scopus and SINTA, a prolific medical textbook author, and a trusted translator of international medical literature for prominent publishers.
