Short Biography
Bianca Orlandi, PhD, builds and analyzes clinical registries that change how cardiac surgery is measured and delivered in Brazil. She is the principal investigator and methodological architect of BraSCORE, the first South American cardiac surgery risk score, developed from a national multicenter registry of 35 centers (Heart Institute – InCor, University of São Paulo).
Her work covers risk prediction, data quality and real-world outcomes in CABG and valve surgery. It includes a validated risk model for deep sternal wound infection (Scientific Reports), a quality audit of the São Paulo State Cardiovascular Surgery Registry (PLOS One), and a statewide data-driven coaching program that improved CABG outcomes (International Journal of Surgery).
She trained at Harvard Medical School (PhD sandwich period with Sharon-Lise Normand; Principles and Practice of Clinical Research; Machine Learning & AI with Python) and in health technology assessment. Her background in nursing and biostatistics lets her connect clinicians, data teams and decision-makers in English, Portuguese and Italian.
Open to: advisory boards, RWE/HEOR consulting, registry design, and scientific leadership roles in Latin America.
