Claudio Gasperini MD PHD is currently Head of Neurology in the Department of Neurosciences of the S Camillo-Forlanini Hospital and Teacher of Neurology at the University La Sapienza of Rome. He graduated in Medicine and completed his specialist training in neurology at the University of La Sapienza of Rome. He then spent one year as Fellow in the Institute of Neurology in London directed by Professor WI McDonald. He obtained his PhD in the Department of Neuroscience at University of La Sapienza in Rome. Particular field of interest is Multiple Sclerosis. He is member of the Steering Committee of MAGNIMS (Magnetic Resonance Imaging in MS) that is a European network of academics sharing a common interest in the study of multiple sclerosis using MRI. Recently he has focused his research also on possible correlations between immunological and MRI biomarkers He has been principal investigator in several Phase II and III clinical trials.

Scientific activities are documented by more than 400 publications in high-impact journals.
