Daniel Cuestas

Daniel Cuestas, MD, is a dermatologist and clinical researcher in Bogotá, Colombia. A Dermatology specialist trained at Universidad El Bosque, he holds a Master's degree in HIV from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain) and is completing an international Master's in Trichology and Hair Transplantation. He is the founder and CEO of Estudioderma Clinical Research, where clinical practice in medical, aesthetic and hair-restoration dermatology runs alongside research.

He has authored more than 13 indexed publications, among them systematic reviews and case studies in the International Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology Research and Pediatric Dermatology. His research interests are HIV-associated skin disease, infectious and tropical dermatology, trichology and hair transplantation, scar management with platelet-rich plasma, and laser therapy. Since 2015 he has served as academic editor of Medicine (Wolters Kluwer) and as peer reviewer for journals including the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and Emerging Microbes & Infections. His current work includes a systematic review and meta-analysis of pregnancy-associated melanoma spanning 75 years of literature. He won first place at the II TeraCILAD International Congress (2019) and holds the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
