Fernando Gómez-Peralta is Head of the Unit of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition at Hospital General de Segovia, Spain. He received his medical degree (MD) in 1993 from the Universidad de Navarra. Pamplona (Spain). Doctor in Medicine (PhD) in 2000 from Universidad de Navarra. Pamplona (Spain).
Coordinator for the Diabetes Area of the Spanish Endocrinology and Nutrition Society (SEEN).
He is a member of the Spanish Diabetes Association, Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition and the American Diabetes Association. Vice-President and Diabetes Group Coordinator for the Sociedad Castellano-Leonesa de Endocrinología, Diabetes y Nutrición. Secretary of Spanish Diabetes Association (April 2014 – May 2018). Member of Consensus and Guidelines Workgroup of Spanish Diabetes Association and Diabetes Group of the Spanish Endocrinology and Nutrition Association.
He is Coordinator for the Diabetes Area of the Spanish Endocrinology and Nutrition Society (SEEN) and a member of the Spanish Diabetes Association, the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition, and the American Diabetes Association. He serves as Vice-President and Diabetes Group Coordinator for the Sociedad Castellano-Leonesa de Endocrinología, Diabetes y Nutrición. He was Secretary of the Spanish Diabetes Association from April 2014 to May 2018 and is a member of the Consensus and Guidelines Workgroup of the Spanish Diabetes Association, as well as the Diabetes Group of the Spanish Endocrinology and Nutrition Association.
His research interests include diabetes technology, continuous glucose monitoring, smart pens, the epidemiology of diabetes and its complications, insulin secretion and insulin resistance, and clinical therapeutics of diabetes.
