Guillaume Fond

A psychiatrist and PhD in cellular and molecular biology, Dr Guillaume Fond is a researcher in nutritional psychiatry, studying how diet and the gut-brain axis shape mental health (depression, attention, inflammation). A tenured hospital physician at AP-HM and a teaching researcher at Aix-Marseille University (CEReSS laboratory), he has accumulated more than 15,000 citations on Google Scholar (h-index = 58, i10-index = 277), including first- or last-author work in JAMA Psychiatry, The Lancet Public Health, Schizophrenia Bulletin and the British Journal of Psychiatry, as well as the international ALIMENTAL study on diet and depression. An associate editor of Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) and Journal of Epidemiology and Public Health, he received the "Sentinels of Science" award for top reviewers and ranks in the 98th percentile of reviewers in psychiatry. He is also the author of leading popular-science books on the subject, including Bien manger pour ne plus déprimer (Odile Jacob, 2022), Bien nourrir son cerveau (Odile Jacob, 2025) and La psychonutrition (Que sais-je?, 2027).
