Izaddin Ahmad Aziz

I am Dr. Izaddin Ahmad Aziz, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the College of Education, Salahaddin University–Erbil. My academic journey is rooted in the field of educational psychology, with a deep interest in positive psychology and mental health, particularly the well-being of individuals living under chronic stress. Over the years, I’ve combined my passion for research, teaching, and community engagement to support both students and professionals. I’ve supervised various undergraduate research projects that explore critical psychological constructs such as ego-resilience, emotional regulation, and self-regulation, especially among special education staff and healthcare workers. Beyond the classroom, I am actively involved in professional training and academic development initiatives. I’ve had the opportunity to deliver training in research methods, interview techniques, and capacity building across cities such as Erbil, Halabja, and Mosul. I’ve also participated in a Training of Trainers (TOT) course, which helped enhance my approach to delivering impactful and practical sessions for university staff and students alike. My service to the university includes representing Salahaddin University at the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region, as well as participating in several committees, including those focused on exam correction, quality assurance, and expert evaluation in the fields of psychology and social sciences. I’m passionate about the transformative power of psychology in education and society, and I remain committed to advancing mental health awareness, academic excellence, and student-centred learning.
