Short Biography

My field of investigation is ecophysiology, with a focus on the effect of various environmental factors on the oxidative status of ectotherms. One special interest I have in this line of research is amphibians and their ability to adapt to environmental changes. The experiments I’m carrying out in this field at the moment include an examination of oxidative stress caused by anthropogenic and environmental factors such as heavy metals and pesticides, desiccation, increase temperature, food and shelter absence. The majority of my current studies are conducted on individuals before, during and after metamorphosis, but I also examine the oxidative costs of interspecific hybridization in crested newts (genus Triturus).
