Mehdi Hedayati, PhD is a Professor of Biochemistry and Director of the Cellular and Molecular Endocrine Research Center at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Trent University, Ontario, Canada.

With more than two decades of research experience, Dr. Hedayati's work focuses on the biochemical, molecular, and genetic aspects of thyroid disorders, particularly thyroid cancer. His research integrates molecular endocrinology, biomarker discovery, and metabolomics to identify novel diagnostic and prognostic markers for thyroid diseases and to improve patient monitoring and follow-up strategies.

Dr. Hedayati is also an experienced laboratory methodologist with expertise in assay development, analytical validation, translational research, and omics-based approaches. He has authored more than 500 scientific publications, received over 14,000 citations, and has an H-index exceeding 55. His current research interests include metabolomics-driven precision diagnostics and systems-level approaches to endocrine diseases.
