Milan Kojic

Milan Kojic, PhD, ORCID 0000-0001-5645-750X, born in Sabac 1963. Education: PhD in Biology (Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade (1995). Present position: Principal Research Fellow, Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera “Torlak” (https://torlak.rs/en/zaposleni/milan-kojic-2/). Research area: Molecular microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Gene cloning, regulation of gene expression, developments of new cloning, expression and fusion vectors, Antibiotic resistance, Role of beneficial microbes and their products (bacteriocins, lipopeptides, antimicrobial peptides, and secondary metabolites) in the battle against pathogens, Lytic bacteriophages active against multidrug resistant pathogens, mRNA vaccines. Training: Molecular genetics of lactic acid bacteria (AFRC, Norwich, UK) (1991), Regulation and expression of genes involved in stress response and stationary phase (Bacteriology Group, ICGEB, Trieste, Italy) (1998-2001). Teaching: Workshop: Bacterial Genetics: Global regulation of gene expression in bacteria, ICGEB, Trieste, Italy (2004), Molecular Genetics of Bacteria “From isolation of bacterial strains to gene regulation and overexpression”, Buenos Aires, Argentina, one-semester course for PhD students (2014). Dr Milan Kojic published more than 160 manuscripts in highly ranked Microbiology and Molecular Genetics journals. He has been an evaluator of several international projects for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, ICGEB and Serbian MNTRI. He has done over 400 reviews for more than 30 scientific journals. In addition, he is editor in four well ranked Scientific journals: Frontiers in Microbiology, PloS One, Proteins & Peptide Letters and Journal of Applied Microbiology.
