Short Biography
Dr Niki Syrou is a postdoctoral researcher, laboratory teaching staff member, and university lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (DPESS) at the University of Thessaly (UTH). Her area of expertise is in public health and exercise and occupational safety and health. She worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in surgery and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Greek clinics and hospitals from 2001 to 2004. She worked as a school nurse from 2004 until 2019. Since 2019 she has been a university lecturer at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and a lab officer at the “SmArT” Laboratory at DPESS (UTH). She has been a speaker in several conferences and workshops, a presenter in several training programs for teachers and students, and an author of many articles mainly on health, public health, and exercise issues and on school and occupational safety and hygiene (>60). She has the role of the reviewer in the scientific journals "Nursing and Research," "International Journal of Educational Innovation," "Cureus Journal of Medical Science," "European Journal of Sustainable Development Research," "BMC Public Health," and "Scientific Reports" at Springer Nature. She is an editorial board member of the Scientific Journal of Nursing and Research and a scientific committee member of the International Journal of Educational Innovation.
