Short Biography

A biomedical scientist with extensive experience in designing and leading complex research programs encompassing hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology, leukemic stem cells (LSCs), hypoxia signaling, mitochondrial biology, and infectious disease. My research has focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate healthy and malignant stem cell maintenance and their adaptation to physiological and pathological stress. I hold a PhD in Biomedicine (summa cum laude) from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and a Master's in Biochemistry (first class) from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India, subsequently followed by Post-doctoral training at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada. I have substantial experience designing and executing complex in-vivo and in-vitrostudies, including work with transgenic mouse models, stem cell assays, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and multidisciplinary data analysis. I have worked across academic and cancer research institutions in India, Germany, and Canada, leading collaborative projects from experimental design through data interpretation to publications in journals such as Cell Stem Cell, Blood, Stem Cell Reports, and the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
