Roland von Känel, MD, is Full Professor at the University of Zurich and Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine at the University Hospital Zurich. He is internationally recognized for research on psychosocial stress, hemostasis, and cardiovascular risk. His work helped establish stress-induced hypercoagulability as a biologically plausible mechanism linking acute mental stress to thrombotic and cardiovascular events.
