Shahjada Selim

Shahjada Selim, Associate Professor in Endocrinology in Bangladesh Medical University, did an MBBS degree from Rajshahi Medical College (1998), Bangladesh; MD (Endocrinology & Metabolism), BIRDEM Academy under Dhaka University. He was awarded FACE in 2016 by the American College of Endocrinology, FRSM in 2018 by the Royal College of Medicine, UK, and FACP in 2025 by ACP.

He serves as the President (Elect) of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES), Vice President of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES), Vice President of the Bangladesh Thyroid Society (BTS), EC Member of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) SEA region, and Treasurer of the Bangladesh Non-Communicable Disease Forum (BNCDF).

He is an Associate Editor of the BSMMU Journal and Advisor to the BJEM; Editorial Board Member of more than 11 renowned international peer-reviewed journals.

He is working as an associate professor in the Department of Endocrinology at Bangladesh Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Research Interest

1. Dr Selim has a keen interest in clinical research on diabetes & its complications, prevention of diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, vitamin D, thyroid disorders, and sexual dysfunctions. He has more than 228 articles published in internationally reputed journals. He also published five books in Bengali on diabetes and thyroid disorders and is a chapter author of two internationally published endocrine books, including "Diabetes Mellitus: From Diagnosis to Treatment."
