Dr. Abdelazeem Mohamed Algammal is a professor and Head of the Department of Bacteriology, Immunology, and Mycology at Suez Canal University, Egypt. He is an expert in Microbiology, Molecular biology, and Immunology. He has about 100 international publications in high-ranked Journals concerning Emerging MDR-pathogens (such as MRSA, E. coli, A. hydrophila, P. aeruginosa, Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium avium subsp. avium, B. cereus, P. mirabilis, Acinetobacter baumannii, E. tarda, A. veronii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae), Virulence determinants, and the mechanism of multidrug resistance, Mycotoxins, and Food-borne pathogens. He completed his Ph.D. in "Molecular typing of exotoxins genes in S. aureus isolates" in 2011. He is a certified entrepreneurship trainer from the International Labour Organization and completed the One Health Training Program at Duke Health Institute, Duke University, NC, USA, in 2019. He has been listed in the Stanford University (California, USA) Ranking of the World Scientists: "World's Top 2% Scientists" for the fourth consecutive year. He is a GBD Senior Collaborator, GBD (Global Burden of Diseases) Collaborator Network: The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, USA. He has received the Springer Nature Editorial Contribution and Author Service Awards "2025" (from BMC Microbiology and BMC Infectious Diseases). He has gained The University Encouragement and Appreciation Award, Suez Canal University, 2021 (Best Applied Research). He has reviewed more than 600 manuscripts and edited more than 300 international publications. Recently, he published his work in the prestigious journals The Lancet, Nature Medicine, Lancet Infectious Diseases, Lancet Public Health, Lancet Global Health, and Nature Communications. He is a scientific reviewer at many international high-ranked journals such as; ''Microbiome, Frontiers in Immunology, Microbiological Research, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Virulence, Gut Microbes, Microorganisms, Food Research International, Microbial biotechnology, BMC Genomics, BMC Microbiology, Bioengineered, Scientific Reports, Toxins, Cell Cycle, and Journal of Immunology Research''. He worked as an Editor at Scientific Reports (Nature), New Microbes and New Infections, BMC Microbiology, BMC Infectious Diseases, Molecular Biology Reports, Discovery Medicine, Frontiers in Bacteriology, and BMC Research Notes. Moreover, he is a Global Outreach-Contributing Member of The American Society for Microbiology. Besides, he is a full member of Applied Microbiology International (The Society for Applied Microbiology "SFAM"). Likewise, he is a member of The Microbiology Society, The British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (UK), and The European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) (Basel, Switzerland).
