Short Biography
Antonio Preti earned his MD in the School of Medicine of the University of Cagliari, Italy, and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Padua, where he also received advanced training as a psychodynamically oriented psychotherapist. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Turin, where he teaches psychiatry, psychopathology, and psychiatric rehabilitation within the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. His clinical activity includes work as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and expert in forensic psychiatry. His clinical and research interests focus on suicide, psychosis and eating disorders and, more broadly, on mental disorders with onset in adolescence and early adulthood. He is a member of several international scientific societies, has authored more than 300 publications, and serves on the editorial boards of multiple high-impact journals. He is President-elect of the Italian Association for Prevention and Early Intervention in Mental Health (AIPP) and has previously served as Vice-President of the Psychotherapy Section of the World Psychiatric Association.
