Short Biography
Professor Ian Davis MBBS(Hons) PhD FRACP FAChPM FAHMS GAICD is a medical oncologist and has been Professor of Medicine and Head of the Monash University Eastern Health Clinical School since 2012. He is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow L3. He also holds honorary appointments as an Affiliate Professor of Deakin University, adjunct Associate Professor of the University of Melbourne, Associate of the University of Sydney, Honorary Professorial Fellow with The George Institute, and Adjunct Professor of University of New South Wales. His primary clinical interests are in urologic cancers, and his primary research interests are in cancer immunology and the biology of urologic cancers. Prof Davis is founder of the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group Ltd (ANZUP, www.anzup.org.au), a not-for-profit charity dedicated to improving outcomes for people affected by “below the belt” cancers of the genitourinary system (prostate, kidney, bladder, testis, penis). Prof Davis is chair of the ANZUP Board and of its Scientific Advisory Committee, and Principal Investigator of several of its trials. He has been involved in over 220 clinical trials including over 130 as global or site Principal Investigator, and has published over 340 papers including over 240 of original research, with over 28,000 citations per Google Scholar.
