Short Biography
Research Scientist in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine -Tucson. My research focuses on understanding the complex interactions between the nervous, vascular, and skeletal systems during tissue repair and regeneration. My work spans peripheral nerve injury, bone fracture healing, and skin wound and burn regeneration, with a particular emphasis on developing translational therapies for musculoskeletal and regenerative medicine.
My research integrates molecular biology, mouse models, imaging, and functional approaches to investigate mechanisms of tissue regeneration and therapeutic recovery, current work focuses on repurposing FDA-approved therapeutics, including 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) and erythropoietin (EPO), to enhance nerve, vascular, and bone regeneration. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications and collaborative translational research programs aimed at advancing novel regenerative therapies from preclinical studies toward clinical applications.
