Short Biography

I am Manorma Negi, a researcher working at the intersection of food biotechnology, microbial biotransformation, and molecular mechanisms of disease. My research experience spans cold atmospheric plasma and plasma-treated liquids, where I investigated their biological effects on cancer cells and pathogenic bacteria associated with gut inflammation.

My current research interest focuses on understanding how dietary polyphenols and other bioactive food compounds are transformed by the gut microbiota and how their bioavailability influences cellular and molecular signalling involved in disease pathogenesis. I am particularly interested in the link between microbial metabolism of dietary bioactives, inflammation, metabolic health, and gut–host interactions.

Through my work, I aim to bridge food science and molecular biology to explore how naturally derived bioactive compounds can be leveraged for preventive nutrition and functional food development.
